Product: AX 2012 R2

Description:

User wanted to set a rule in accounting structure (Advance Rules) configuration where One of the Financial dimension out of two (which will be mentioned) need to be mandatory while passing vouchers with certain main accounts. For Eg:-

We have 2 financial dimensions as "System Projects" or "Manual Projects"

While selecting the main account "WIP" , one of the custom financial dimension out of the above two need to be mandatory.Which means that user need to select either one value in "System Projects" or one value in "Manual Projects" to validate and post the voucher.

Is the above configuration possible ?

    Hello Jayakrishnan S,

What I got is that if a certain main account "WIP" is used, the user has to enter either financial Dimension 1 ("System Projects") or financial Dimension 2 ("Manual Projects"). Is that right?

If so, can you try to

    (a) include financial dimension 1 into your account structure allowing empty values for it an

    (b) including financial Dimension 2 into your advanced rule structures?

When you setup the advanced rule structure, you need to setup a filter saying that financial dimension 2 needs to be filled if financial dimension 1 is empty ("")

Please try in a demo/test Environment and let us know if this works for you.

    Hope it helps,

    Ludwig

Probably "" not working as empty value in the filtering field. Anyways it is not validating as empty value.

    Hi Jayakrihnan,

I tested this again in my demo machine and it worked with the following setup.

(Note: Business unit is my first financial Ddmension and cost center is my 2nd one)

Please check whether this works for you:

    AS2.png

Result: If I forget entering at least one of the dimensions I get the following error

    Hope it helps,

Yes..It is working.Earlier for empty value i was entering "". Now as per your screen shot i have entered is equal to or less than 0. Then it is working. Does it mean that "is equal to or less than 0" = NULL (Blank) ?
