Hello, I have successfully done Power BI report using BYOD. Its executed well in Power BI Desktop and Power BI services as well. I have already published the report.

Now, as per the customer requirement, they like to run the same Power BI report from D365F&O.
.
Kindly give me some reference pls.

Please give me your thoughts .

    Hi,

BYOD database has nothing to do with D365 FO except one thing, i.e., all the data in BYOD comes from the D365 FO data entities. BYOD is not operational database.

You may be having confusion between Entity Store Database and BYOD.

If you develop a report using BYOD, the users can bookmark the URL of the report in the web browser and can continue to run the report whenever needed.

If you want the Power BI report to be available as the standard BI reports, you needed to develop it using Entity store.

    Thanks Sohaib,

So, if we made the Power BI report using entity store (AxDW), then only I can access the report from D365F&O workspace. Is it called Embedded Power BI report?

    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Yes that is correct.

These are called Embedded power BI workspace and analytics.

Personally I would recommend investing Less in this, as Microsoft is investing more into new tools like BPA and Fabric Link. Choose something that will be there for years.

For the moment tell to the users, live with what you have developed.

But if they insist, you can proceed with Entity Store.

    Thanks Sohaib,

    Finally one things only...

As I read somewhere else that for the Power BI report we need...

    Azure App registration
Need to mention Application id in System Administrator -- Power BI configuration.com

We can run the report from D365FO -- Open report catalogue.

Is these required for Embedded Power BI report?

    Hi,
Yes, you are talking about setup of standard Power BI in the Dynamics 365 FO. It is documented here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/analytics/configure-power-bi-integration
