Inventory Valuation Table

Hi:

In tying the Item Table with the Inventory by Location table using Get Data in Excel, we're trying to get the item cost by location.

But, the same cost figure appears for each location.  So, that can't be right.

We, next, tried to pull the Value Entry table into Excel.  But, since this table contains a record for each inventory-based transaction, reviewing this table is not feasible.

In using Get Data in Excel, what is the best means of accessing an inventory valuation table and determining item cost by location?

    Hi

    If in BC you go to Item Ledger Entry do you see a different cost per location? Also, what is your costing method? if you have Avg Costing method then what did you selected in Inventory Setup under Avg Cost Cal Type?

    If you see different price in Item Ledger Entry then that is the table to use. Of course you can filter the data by location and type in Excel Power Query.

    Yes, the Value Entries table is likely the correct table.  But, since that table has "Posting Date" for each record, how can you tell from that table what is the "current" (point in time) item cost by location?

    They should apply to Nav too.

    Do you have SKU for each location? if yes can you try to publish "Stockkeeping Unit Card (5700, Card)" page then use Unit Cost in there? Basically can you go to each location SKU and look at Unit cost.

    I don't think that SKUs are in place.  Is there any other table to review that would easily derive cost by location?

    If you do not have SKU then maybe try the to publish Value Entries (5802, List) page then in Power Query try to filter the following "Item Ledger Entry Type" = "Purchase" and "Entry Type" = "Direct Cost|Variance". Then if you sort based on posting date you can have the most recent cost.
