Security on form button in D365FO

Hi All

In standard form i have added a custom button, i would like to hide that button for some users.

For that i Set the button property NeededPermission to Manual.

Added the form control under the form control permission node of a privilege and set Grant -> No Access and added under the role A

Now nobody except the system administrator can see this button control.

But my requirement is if user having the particular role A then only he is not able to see button control, rest users can see.

Regards,
Rahul

    Hi Rahul,

Like Martin mentioned, you need to provide some access permissions for the roles which would be able to see the button. When you set the needed permission to manual, then by default no person, except the system administrator is able to see this button. For that reason, you must add form control permissions to all roles which need to be able to use this button.

I wrote a blog containing some thoughts on the needed permission property: Security how-to: Only finance users are allowed to see cost prices in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations - Dynamicspedia

Yes. You said that no permissions shall be assigned automatically and you set none manually either.

    No

Do i have to create privilege which is having grants access to the button?

You mentioned a privilege that denies access to the control. Do you have any privilege that actually grants access to the button?
