Tracking leads new and existing leads through campaigns

Hi, I am trying to tag all leads of my organisation (existing and new) to few campaigns that I created on CRM today under Campaigns - Marketing. I also went and created a new field "Campaign Source" on the lead form with the new created campaign lookup options.

Now I have 2 issues ,

1)I cant tag more than one campaign to a lead, it overwrites the previous campaign it was tagged to

2) I dont see the tagged lead numbers getting counted under the campaigns in Marketing.

How do I get to tag a lead to multiple campaign and generate reports on which campaign provided us with more new leads versus existing?

Sorry , I am new to MSDCRM and used Salesforce previously. This is how it worked in Salesforce , but I suppose CRM works differently. Need some urgent advice here. Thanks

    1) I guess the required logic here will depend on how you think of a lead. Maybe MSCRM is slightly different to SalesForce in this respect. A lead is a "temporary" record, it can be for a new company or a lead for an existing company. The lead will be qualified into an opportunity or disqualified if no real interest exists. In MSCRM a lead isn't really an organisation. (Which I think is the definition you might be applying to it.) It is common to think of leads like that but you can have multiple leads from one company. (in theory) This is why each lead would map to one campaign. I guess you could create a custom many to many relationship between lead and campaign. (As in your example, one campaign would have many leads and one lead would have many campaigns.) Although you'd also need to consider the wider implications on how you want to use and report on campaigns. So it would be a change that should have some thought / design.

    2) The leads linked to a campaign do show in the lead subgrid on the campaign. If you want a count of leads on the campaign or maybe a sum of estimated revenue (or something like that), you might need to create a rolled up field on the campaign. Or maybe simply show a chart on the campaign form. For example, you could have a pie chart on leads that counts the number of qualified / disqualified leads. This could then be shown on the campaign form.

    Thanks for your prompt response.

I do see the leads linked to a campaign in the lead subgrid on the campaign, it was just hidden and I had to make it available.

So that solves my second issue.

But with regards to my first, can you please throw some light on the custom many to many relationship between lead and campaign that I would need to set up to make a lead tagged to multiple campaigns?
