FA Posting Group, missing when adding a new FA

We have been using D365 for 8 months.

We have just figured out that any Fixed Assets that were Added after the initial import do not have "FA Posting Group", we found this out when I exported the file (via config pack) and all the new ones were blank.  All of these entries did not calculate depreciation since they were added.

[[info - we currently have about 50 subclasses and none of them have a default fa posting group]] - we always select the posting group manually, but it appears it is NOT taking.

I have, since this discovery, posted another new FA and the posting group is blank, even though I put it in.

We CAN NOT change the posting group in the config pack.  We can change the FA posting group on the screen and it seems to work, but then when we go to the config pack and export the file it is blank.

Did I find a BUG that is happening because we DO NOT use Defaults on our subclasses?

The only way we can get a posting group in there is my using the config pack to make a new FA.

It will not even change one if we try to use the same FA.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

    Hi

Which config package you are taking out? Are you taking out "FA Depreciation Book (5612) or Fixed Asset (5600)?

Can you try 5612 and then test and report back?

In general my recommendation is to use FA Posting in Subclass as default. This prevent future mistakes and wrong posting.

I looked at 5612 and it did have an FA Posting Group, but then that is more confusing, because why did the depreciation not calculate?

So to confirm the Fixed Asset itself can have a blank posting group as long as the depreciation book has one?

Is that a screen that reflects what is in the FA Depreciation Book table?

I believe you need hem in both. But first you need to populate 5612 then 5600 if you are using Config

Also when you calculate did you use filter for FA Posting. If you did then it is chance since it was blank on 5600 system did not catch them.
