Integration with 3rd Party System (Oracle) using REST API

Hi Experts,

I am trying to do an integration between D365 f&o and an external system (oracle cloud - EPM) to load data and masters. As both systems support RESTAPI, I wonder if there is a way to create jobs in D365 (data and masters export in columnar format) and trigger RESTAPI externally at users discretion.

I have gone through number of blogs and community question, however, couldn't find any. I am a complete novice at this and never done this before. It would be great help if you could provide any guidance.

Thanks in Advance!

John

There are many things to think about before you can make a decision.

For example, which system(s) you need to read from and write to? What will be the trigger? What if one the target system is down?

How much data and how often? OData in F&O may be too slow and if tiou have a file in columnar format, using data management APIs would be better anyway.

Is the Oracle system accessible from internet?

Assuming that you'll need to transform the data, where you'll do it?

You'll likely end up with in between those systems, e.g. a Logic App or an Azure function communicating with both systems and transforming the data.

Third-party services can be used to integrate Oracle and Dynamics data. For example, you can use the Skyvia cloud service. No coding platform with a freemium version
