Freight forwarder address'

We are a international company who has many customers who have a set Freight forwarders tied to specific address' per customer. Every time the customer requests a specific address it is expected that we will ship to the freight forwarder and they will ship to the end destination. Both Address' must be on the commercial invoice in their appropriate fields.

Is there any way to create a customer address format (without development support) so that you can in effect tie a second address to the first? Even if we would need development to get this to print appropriately at least the information would be there.

The only other way to fix this that I can see is to request additional development so multiple address' can be selected on every order that will manually just need to know to be associated with each other instead of automatically attached.

I'm kind of baffled that this wasn't thought of as a need to have in the system previously, I guess whomever created the base design thinks companies only ship within the same country where use of a freight forwarder would not have requirements to be documented on a Commercial invoice.

I have the same question (0)

    hi

In Dynamics 365, it is possible to add multiple addresses to a customer record. However, the system does not provide a way to tie a second address to the first one without development support.

One possible solution could be to create a custom field on the customer record to store the freight forwarder address, and then use a workflow or a plugin to populate this field based on the customer's selected shipping address. This way, the freight forwarder address can be included on the commercial invoice.

Another option would be to use a third-party app or extension that allows for more flexible address management. Some apps on Microsoft AppSource may offer this type of functionality.

It's also worth noting that Dynamics 365 does support multiple shipping addresses per order, so you could manually enter the freight forwarder address as a separate shipping address on each order. However, this may not be the most efficient solution for your needs.

Ultimately, if your company requires a more complex address management solution, it may be necessary to engage a Dynamics 365 developer to create a custom solution that meets your specific requirements.
