Dear All,
I need your valuable advice as we are planning to move our Active Directory(AD) to Azure from on-prem.
Will there be any impact on the current users in AX? If anyone has done it or have any experience, kindly share your suggestions.
We are using AX 2012 R3 Cu8 version.
Thanks in advance.

Can you explain what you mea by moving AD? If you mean stop using Active Directory (and use Azure Active Directory instead), applications depending on Active Directory (such as AX 2012) would stop working. Therefore you can't do it that way.
But you can start using AAD while keeping Active Directory in place and keep them synchronized.
Zakeer,
Since this is not what we did, I can't say if it would create any issues. Theoretically, it shouldn't be an issue for you.
Hi Gunjan,
Thanks for your response. We are not moving AX to azure, only AD is getting moved. We have AX clients installed on the users machines and also we are using CITRIX to access AX. I just want to make sure AX will work properly after AD is moved to azure. whereas as AX will still be on-prem
Regards,
Zakeer
Hi Zakeer,
We have moved clients to Azure from on-prem a few years back. There were no impacts on current users. For improving performance, we had implemented AX access using RDS.
Is there anything in particular that you are looking for?
