Service bus listener for MS CRM.

Hi All,

I have to implement service bus listener. Whenever a two option field sets as "Yes", then the logic should execute. The logic creates some 2000 to 3000 records.

Trying to implement the same using plugin and custom workflow. But there is a time limit of 2 minutes for both in online CRM. So getting timeout exception. Please do reply for further details if required.

Any suggestions, pointers to the blogs will be appreciated.

Thanks

    Hi

Have you thought about using Scribe to do this?

To overcome the 2 minute time limit for plug-ins, I've used a design pattern where I distribute the work across multiple plug-in executions.

For example, a "controlling" entity could have a picklist that has items such as 0-250, 251-500, etc.  Your plug-in can fire when that picklist field is updated for the controlling record. So, after the first plug-in finishes creating 250 record, it can set the picklist to 251-500 and then that would trigger another plug-in instance to run.

This might seem kind of crazy, but it helped me one time when I wanted to collect CRM metadata (all entities, fields, relationships, etc.) in a plug-in and ran into the time limit. The approach of having a controller entity that got updated and then triggered further actions worked out well for that purpose.

Or... you could use Scribe Online and start it via the API or create an Azure WebJob to pick up a message from a service bus queue and create the needed records from that Azure app.

    Hi
You have to either use scribe or create a custom webservice, host it in azure and call the service using javascript

    Hi Alagu,

How can we call the console application on the creation and update of records in CRM?

    Thanks
