Pending send emails when user manually creates messages

We (thought) we successfully configured our emailing details (profile, mailboxes, approved mailboxes/users, ran tests and successfully sent/received test messages).

BUT

whenever our users create and send individual emails from CRM the messages remain in a pending send status.   

Environment:

Microsoft CRM 2015 on-premise running in an Azure Virtual Machine

Microsoft Exchange Online

using an account to impersonate users when sending messages through Exchange (server side sync)

We have:

verified VM can see Exchange Online

Verified profile, mailbox, approves, more … all sees ok and passes the test.

Thoughts or suggestions welcome

    Hi Michael,

    Can you check the Alerts on one of the affected mailboxes?

    You can check that by going in Settings > Email Configuration > Mailboxes > Open one of the affected mailboxes > Alerts ( under Related section )

    Thank you for the suggestion. Yet nothing came up under Alerts originally.   We did get things working.  Removed all the settings, re-did everything all over again.  Restarted services and server.  then tried a test run and it work.    Guess it just need a few tries.
