I'm working in the new Sales Hub - Unified Interface and creating dashboards.
I've created some charts and have exported them to modify the XML to make the display the way we would like them to.
The chart imports just fine and then I publish the customizations, but I never see any of the changes on my Sales Hub dashboard. It's like the dashboard is completely ignoring any of the custom xml changes I put into place.
What's interesting if I go edit my system dashboard, the editing screen actually shows my xml changes, i.e. pie chart = concave style, and label changes, but when I go to the actual dashboard those changes are there, it's the standard pie chart.
Is it unsupported to add custom xml to charts and have them display correctly the unified interface at this point yet?
Thanks
Joel
I can confirm this limitation is still on place as of today on version 9.1.0000.17154. Cannot believe Microsoft is forcing customers to move to UCI when they do not provide same functionality as of "legacy" web client.
Creating custom personal dashboards and charts is a feature that is still not available in the software.
We will have to wait until it is made available as a new feature.
Hi partner,
If the same xml works in the web client and doesn't work in the unified interface, then this is indeed a limitation of the unified interface.
Your thinking is correct.
So none of that works. Remember I'm asking specifically in the new Unified Interface for D365 as I was able to get everything to work in my old D365 environment until I upgraded to using the newest Unified Interface app.
In reviewing the "about unified interface" doc article: docs.microsoft.com/.../about-unified-interface
It appears that "Custom styling of advanced chart properties" is not available yet. So I believe I've answered my own questions, unless someone has figured out otherwise.
I'm trying to use custom xml like the following in a pie chart:
Hi partner,
What can be determined is that D365 supports adding custom xml to the chart and takes effect.
1. First of all, after you add custom xml to the chart, instead of looking at the dashboard, look at the chart. Did your modification take effect on the chart?
Please note that the chart here is not the one when editing the dashboard, but the user interface.
2. If the chart modification has taken effect, then check if the chart in the dashboard is the one you modified.
When you import the modified chart, D365 will let you choose whether to keep both charts or replace the original one.
If you choose to keep both, the chart in the dashboard is the original, not the one you imported after modification.
3. Finally, if the chart modification still does not take effect on the dashboard, then please clear your browser cache.
