Limit ability of users to modify Unit, Price List etc.

Here is my dilemma:  I need users to be able to enter or change the Price List in an Order, but do not want them to be able to click the actual Price List (the hyperlink) and be able to change the name, deactivate, delete, etc. that Price List.

I can lock the Product but not the Unit, etc., but cannot do anything with the Unit, etc.  What is the security role component that would allow this and/or toggle it?

    There are no separate privileges for pricelist/unit on the security role. They inherit the privileges from Product. Can you check the behavior by providing only Read, Append, Append To permissions on Product ?

    I just tested this with the OOB Salesperson role to see if anything has changed in the new release but it appeared same. The user wasn't able to change the pricelist or update it by clicking on the hyperlink.

    I provided the 'Override order pricing' and checked; the user was able to change the pricelist but not update / delete it.

    Once the Write permission was given on Product, the user was able to edit/deactivate the price list record.

    You might have to do a couple of trials to figure out which modification over the OOB role caused the pricelist record to be available for update.
