We can not delete the customer if this customer has any transactions like work(unposted), open (posted), history (fully paid and moved to history through Paid Transaction Removal).

To delete a customer if they contains only history transactions, then you need to run the "Remove Transaction History" (Tools-->Utilities-->Sales-->Remove Transaction History) utility to remove the transactions history and the delete the customer. Otherwise you can Inactive the customer.

If you really want to remove the customer, then you need post all the transaction, move the paid transaction to history and then remove the history information. Finally you can delete the customer. But, I would not suggest you to remove the customer with historical transactions.

Note: Make sure you have a latest backup for company database before remove the Customer Historical information.

    Hope this helps!!!

    Hello Nizamudeen

In order to delete a customer, you do need to meet the following conditions:

    1. The customer should have a zero balance
    2. There are no open transactions for the customers
    3. There are no un posted transactions for the customers

If you can not meet the conditions above, you can inactivate the customer or put it on hold. Otherwise, you will not be able to get the customer deleted from the application level.

I have previously considered other criteria to get customers with open transactions deleted on the SQL level, the method is simply to get all the transactions moved to history in assistance with the "Paid Transaction Removal" utility. Although, I really do not recommend this method.

Any problem with having the customer inactivated or on hold !

Let me know if you have any further concerns,
