In the middle of upgrading from GP10 to GP13. I'm reading there could possibly be an issue between GP setup files and executables (for both GP10 & GP13)stored on C:/ if the firm leaves the legacy GP10 installed on workstations (for example, accessing legacy data/server within GP10)
Specs: 7 machines total (all machines). Windows XP virtual box will run GP10, while Windows 8 will power GP13. In the event we need to look-up legacy data we will be powering-up GP10 via Windows XP virtual box (overlaying Windows 8, and on the same workstations GP13 has been installed). We have separate servers for GP10 and GP13 data.
I believe (without actual proof) there can be a conflict between the two Great Plains running on the same machines which is why I was hoping to due away with keeping GP10 installed and instead access the legacy data via a separate data warehouse.
Any help letting me know of any possible conflicts down the road would be helpful. For example, lack of support of legacy software and conflicts on setup files.
