Document Approval - Hyperlink to open NAV within approval email doesn't open NAV because of citrix

Hi All,

Wonder if someone can help me with an issue i'm trying to solve for a client.

The client is using document approval function. So when a user needs a document approving, NAV sends an email to the approver notifying him of this. Here's the bit which I'm struggling with. In this email there is a hyperlink that opens NAV.

When the customer clicks this link. The link returns an error message stating that there is no software to open this page with. This is because the customer is connecting to NAV through citrix's. This means that because NAV is not hosted on there local machine, because they have to log in through Citrix to run NAV. There is no program to open the hyperlink because the users local machine can't see NAV through Citrix.

Is there anything you can suggest? so when the user clicks on the hyperlink in the approvals email, NAV opens?

Hi Nathan,

What happens when you open this link on the Server where Navision is installed on (I mean in Citrix server)?

Would the link open or not?

Hints:

- I hope that the customer are really using Citrix Client! and not using ClickOnce client. Coz in ClickOnce Hyperlink won't work

- Are both Outlook & Navision installed Per Citrix??? If not this is the source of your problem :).

Both Navision & Outlook have to be installed per Citrix on the customer local machine. and most important is that both of the programmers have to be installed on the same Citrix server

hi ,

to make the link NAV client should open in your local machine , by default its load by ur local machine.
