We need to install Dynamics GP 8 on Windows 7 for a short period of time while we complete a test and then production upgrade to Dynamics GP 2010. However, we cannot start the install on Windows 7 workstations - when we click on CDSetup.exe we receive the message - "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."
We tried changing the compatibility mode on the executable files but still receive the same error message.
We do recognize that this setup is not supported. However, we are wondering if there is a work around such as installing from the command line.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

GP 8 is not longer support so we cannot provide information on it, but I can tell you that it was never tested on Windows 7 OS. I will leave this open for other community members to post suggestions.
