Custom Screen Access(visibility in module) in SL

Posted on by 80

I have created a custom screen in SL that I have added to the user's Financial module.  This screen is associated to a Group , Company A.  When I am logged into the user in question under Company A, I see all of my Financial Module screens plus my custom screen (exactly what I want.)  However, when I log into a different company in SL ,one that this user does not have payroll access to, I see no standard payroll options (desired), However, I still see the custom screen in the list.  I do not expect to see that screen here because the company that is currently logged in should not have access to it.  I do understand that the user has access to it but I dont want the user to see the option when logged in to a different company.  Can anybody help?

    This is the flow that I want.

    1. User with permissions to company A and B logs into company A

    2. User can see custom screen menu item for company A but not for company B

    3. User switches companies to company B

    4. Now the user sees custom screen menu item for B and not for A

    In this case, I am unable to make it so that the user doesn't have rights to both groups.  The user does have rights to both groups and in fact needs rights to those groups because the user can log in to either company and run this custom screen for that company.  What I would like to see is that they only see the custom screen menu item for the company that they are logged into and not all custom screens that they have access to as a user.

    Try modifying the groups so that the Access Rights for Group A are only for Company ID A (uncheck All Companies). Do the same for Group B. Make sure that the user in question is only a member of Group A (or Group B, but not both).

    Once you make this change, see if the user can see the screen in the menu for both companies.

    Both companies(Groups) have View access only to the Custom screen in Access Rights Maintenance for the Group.  I'm not sure what I should do with the "All Companies" checkbox.  It is currently selected for both groups so under Company ID it says [ALL]

    Okay. What are the access rights for the screen in both company A and company B? For example, have you defined a group that has access to this screen in company A, of which this user is a member?

    Thanks,

    @The Cubist

    The screen's access rights are set up for both companies. I'm attempting to point the two menu items to the same screen so both Groups (company A and company B in this case) need access to the screen as far as I understand.

    How do you have the Access Rights configured for this custom screen?

    Thanks,
