RMS Restore File from Backup--non-server system

How do I restore a backed up file for RMS?

I am not on a server; it is a stand-alone computer using Windows 8.0

I cannot find answer to this question in the instructions within the program, within the pdf manual, nor online using Google as my search engine.

You can restore with RMS Administrator. Follow Help in this. Points to remember.

1 - Connect to an existing DB, if SQL password is not available select Windows Authentication.

2 - From Database Menu select "Master" DB.

3 - Populate by selecting "Create' From Database Menu. You have to supply new database name not an existing name.

4 - after creation select this new database and from file menu select "configuration".

5 - Type the new database name in the window and hit "Test Database Connection".

It should connect and say is successful. Now RMS Manager or POS or Admin will connect to this.

You need to repeat step 5 when you need to switch databases.

    Which country are you in?

RE: RMS Restore File from Backup--non-server system

    Hello Joe,

    Thank you for your question.

Within RMS jargon, the server is defined as the computer that hosts the database, so if you are running a stand alone system, that computer is the server as it hosts the database that RMS uses, so the process will be the same.

    Thank you,
