Can we reset a CRM Online instance and remove Yammer integration?

Hello all,

We have a CRMOL customer with Yammer integrated.  Turns out, Yammer is not suitable for them.  But...  We cannot disconnect Yammer and CRMOL (some of you may have seen previous posts from me about this!).

Can we create a backup of the CRMOL org, demote it to Sandbox, reset it, restore the backup, then promote to Production?  Will this remove the integration with Yammer?  Or would the integration with Yammer be "baked into" the backup?

We could, I suppose, export customizations and all data the old fashioned way.  Just wondering if we can leverage the new backup/restore capabilities and still get rid of Yammer.

Thanks,

    Hi Glenn,

If you take a copy online, yammer solution will still be there; because you making a exact copy.

if you export solution and import it back to fresh org. system will ask for related components.

Yammer configurations are really confusing....lets see what other have to say, may be they have a better solution

    Hi Glenn,

First of all, you can demote CRM OL Org to Sandbox, reset it and restore the backup and promote it to production.

Also, if you are above CRM 2016 version, then you can leverage the new backup/restore capabilities.

Now, regarding Yammer, I haven't used it though, but I believe you can try exporting customization and import it to trial environment and check if you are able to import it successfully without Yammer or not. Also, if there are any Yammer components, then please check if there are any managed solutions for Yammer and try deleting the solution.

Sorry for my slow reply.  Thanks for the feedback.  We are planning now for a reset.  I'll post back to this thread to share what happened!

Hi Everyone,  I am happy to report that we reset the customer's instance of CRM Online this weekend, and the Yammer integration was indeed removed!  Using CRM's new backup and restore capabilities, we created a backup, demoted the site to sandbox, reset it, restored the backup, and promoted it to production.  Again, no Yammer, and no loss of data or customizations.  The whole process took about 45 minutes.

I just wanted everyone to know.
