Windows 10 Dynamics CRM App and 2016 On-Premise

So far, our on-Premise CRM 2016 is not working for the newer Dynamics CRM app.  I've tried from my Windows 10 Mobile phone (which I understand may not be supported) but also my Windows 10 PC with the same error "We're sorry, additional steps may be needed to configure Microsoft Dynamics CRM for this organization.  Please contact your system administrator."  Well, that's me and I can't find any more info on resolving this.

My team members with Android Phones are having a great experience with the app -makes me drool and wonder why I, as an adopter of Microsoft's own mobile platform cannot use their tools.  At least I know the app is working so the problem is not that nothing mobile works.  Regardless, all I can find tells me the on-prem 2016 should work for tablets and I would think by extension, desktops since they are running the same OS and app versions.  Ideas?

Anyone using the Dynamics CRM App on a Windows 10 Desktop with on-premise CRM 2016?

Thanks!  Jason

    Hello Axeon,

    Thank you for your query.

You can refer the following articles to have a heads up about the supported configurations and compatibility lists.

    technet.microsoft.com/.../hh699711.aspx

    support.microsoft.com/.../3019557

    support.microsoft.com/.../3124955

I recommend that you confirm and set up your environment according to the compatibility list mentioned above to avoid future problems.

Please do inform me about update. Feel free to reply here and I'll be glad to assist you.

Hi Sharon,  we have just migrated from CRM 2015 to CRM 2016 On Premise with success, but I have the exact same situation that Axeon Man. I cannot Connect using the mobile app from Windows 10 mobile nor from Windows 10 Pro!!!!

Besides I could successfully Connect from Android and IPhone.

How could this be possible??? MICROSOFT INCOMPATIBLE WITH MICROSOFT???

Please, tell me i'm wrong and confirm if Windows 10 mobile and windows 10 Pro are supported by Microsoft to use the universal app "Microsoft Dynamics CRM" connected against a Dynamics 2016 server ON PREMISE ??

    Regards,

    Javier

Same here, yet it does work on an iPad.... so thinking this has something to do with Windows 10.

    Same problem here.

I tried it with CRM 2016 Update 0.1 and now with CRM 2016 Service Pack 1 (8.1.0.359) and I always get the error message on my windows phone.

Using my iPhone, everything is running perfectly.

According to this page, Windows Mobile 10 is supported.

I would concur with this thread's sentiments, very poor showing that MSFT app's on MSFT Os's cant and don't work.

This is further confirmed as another unhappy CRM solution provider

    Hi All,

I am currently using this CRM App on Surface RT and Surface Pro 4

Please enable this on your Surface Tablet or any device running Windows 10 OS

    1. Open the Group Policy Management Editor.
    2. Select an existing policy or create a new policy.
    3. Go to Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > App runtime and set Turn on dynamic Content URI Rules for Windows store apps to Enabled.
    4. Click Show, and then add the URL for your organization. For example, https://orgname.contoso.com

    Thanks

I have added these GP settings and the URI for this, I think this was a requirement for the previous version of the app but have added anyway and rebooted the client and is the same result with the ActiveX screen

Please check the attached screen, I just now configured brand new Surface Pro 4 Tablet, I only updated the URI in GP, if possible can you add port number along with the URI and let me know

    Thank
