AX 2012 R3 is allowing negative inventory even if negative physical inventory is unchecked

Some of the item's on-hand has negative value in physical inventory however negative physical inventory on item model group is unchecked.

I am not able to reproduce this issue as on creating new SO or TO system is throwing error. I am not able to figure out how there are neg values on On-hand.

note: tracking dimension Batch is enabled on item,

Anybody else faced same issue?

    Hi Muhammad Shaheryar Khan ,

    Please see the tracking dimension group setting of the current item. You said its batch enabled, please see the setting of that batch dimension group.

    It will be located in Product Information Management> Setup> Dimension & Variant groups> Tracking Dimension groups

    Please see if the allow blank for issue is enabled across that tracking dimension group batch.

    This could be one of the reasons of your issue here, the user must have not select the batch number on sale order.

    Secondly, there is also a physical negative parameter on the Warehouse page.

    Go to > Inventory Management> Setup> Inventory Breakdown > Warehouses > Warehouse tab> Negative inventory.

    Please check if they are disabled as well.

    Hi Muhammad,

    Depending on the settings, you can have a negative inventory on e.g. storage dimension level even when the item model group option is disabled. However, item overall it should be equal to or greater than zero.

    Do you have customizations in your environment? Did you check LCS issue search for a possible known issue and hotfix?

    Yes batch is enabled and allow blank is unchecked.

    Also, on warehouse setup negative physical is unchecked.

    Any other suggestion that might be causing physical inventory to be negative?

    If there is such settings then it would let me create further SOs or TOs. But when i am trying to reproduce the issue, system is throwing error as its supposed to be.

    I have checked all the classes that i could think that might be causing the issue but there are no customizations in it.  

    Also i didn't find any hotfix for this issue.

    Can you post the item transactions here? Because it is possible that might this physical negative check box have been removed forcefully I.e. through customizations.

    there are certain similar cases as well in which on hand inventory is -ve.

    This example is an item with only two transactions in total?

    Can you find out if settings were changed in the past? E.g. before it was allowed to have negative inventory?

    Yes this item has only two transaction for specific dimension(site,warehouse,batch). However there are other items having large number of transactions . I can share if it can help understanding the problem.

    Settings are same from the start. Initially there were only one item having negative value.Now number is increasing. I was hoping if we could prevent it in any way?

    Are these transfer orders manually created? Is it a possibility that due to customization these orders are automated?

    Yes, the TOs are created manually. When i try to reproduce the issue by creating new TO ,it throws the error as its supposed to be.  I am not really sure what causes this error to come in first place.
