Hi Community,
I have an on-cloud dynamics FO VM having FO environment and SQL server installed there. I get the AXDW data of FO by refreshing the entity store cube in FO and then data is generated in SQL Server AXDW database. Then I get the data in Power BI by connecting the BI with SQL server by providing the SQL instance name as dot(.) and database name as AXDW.
When I want this AXDW database outside of VM what will be the SQL server instance name for that to get the data on other machine.
In short I want the on-cloud FO AXDW data on other machine for Power BI Reporting. How can I access that?
Thank you
Hi Ammad,
You can read the documentation how to get data synchronized to another Azure SQL DB which then can be accessed by Power BI. Bring your own database (BYOD) - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs
Besides moving data to BYOD, you can also consider the option to export the data to Azure Data Lake.
These are supported options for cloud production environments. You can't access the production database directly from Power BI.
