Hi
I need to disable users from starting a production order unless we have enough physical on hand stock for the items included in the BOM, Where can I check this configuration?

There is no prevention, you need to build this into your process. You could look at the explosion and update or run a report, but ultimately most businesses require the flexibility (packaging is the classic example). You need to add a step into your process or of course customize AX!
All right, we will discuss if a customization solves this issue. Thanks a lot.
one suggestion is to set flushing principal to start and do automatic consumption at start of production order. If no on hand inventory is available, production order will not be started.
Hi Einar,
Could you please ellaborate on your suggestion?
Einar means that at the start of the production order you decide to consume the materials at the point of start (this is an option) and in that manner if it could not flush materials it would fail to start. This is not really giving you any visibility, and if you had negative stock allowed it would not work, and there are a few other considerations in the process like then reporting what was actually picked, but it is a valid suggestion, just does not really work in most businesses.
Thanks Einar, I unchecked the "Automatic reduction" box and this solved the issue perfectly, Production order cannot be started unless thre is enough on-hand stock.
Remember when you do start it the BOM will immediately be consumed :-)
