Email Notification to User on Completion of Export to Excel - Excel Online Updation of records

Greetings !

I am using Dynamics 365 Online and I have created a simple model driven app that exposes a Master entity and a Child entity.
I have a view that shows fields from both Master and Child entity.
I open this using Export to Excel - Open in Excel Online and modify around 100 records (only child columns) and press the save records to dynamics option.
Internally a job is submitted and I can see the changes once the job successfully completes.
I do not want to expose the Data Import page to the user, but do I have any out of box option to send an email to the user about the completion of job with -Success/Failure as status or Number of records successfully updated?

Hi,

Unfortunately, there isn't anything out of box for such kind of notifications.

Hi Ravi,

How do the various end user come to know about the outcome of the excel modifications they did using Excel Online?

Is it normal for end user's to have access to Data Import page?

What would be an ideal approach to achieve this?

Hi Shyam,

To be honest, if users have create permission on the records then in my opinion it is beneficial to expose/provide the data import functionalities. If you are concerned that with this user may get access to other functionalities like customization etc then you can control this using security role.
