Email attachment search

Hi,

I keep receiving emails that we are on 80% of our storage limit and therefore I want to go in and remove some email attachments from when they have been tracked. I am using the advanced find, however, when I search within E-mail messages - E-mail attachments - File size (bytes) I can then pull up all the emails with attachments, however...

I can not add a column which will inform me of the actual size of attachments, which makes it very difficult. Any hints/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It doesn't appear accessing the columns from the attachment is an option - you may just have to use your advanced find to narrow down the range.

"You can't add columns about the attachment" can't possibly be the correct answer? The single worst offender for storage size, and I can't pull an advanced find with the details?

You can search the Notes entity and specify File Size (Bytes) is greater than XXX, but it doesn't look like that search applies to Email.

In other words, it is literally impossible to pull a list of email attachments and sort them by file size.

    That is just completely insane.

If you're not getting what you need from Advanced Find, you can use the FetchXml tool in the XrmToolBox.

    Sample query:

    <fetch version="1.0" output-format="xml-platform" mapping="logical"><entity name="activitymimeattachment"><attribute name="filename" /><attribute name="filesize" /><attribute name="activitymimeattachmentid" /><order attribute="filename" descending="false" /></entity></fetch>

Save the results to an XML file and import it into Excel.

Looks like you can also do it through Reports, just not through Advanced Find.
