Field Level Security Question - Accessing the scrolling "Options" at the bottom of the screen

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello all -

I am trying to implement what I thought would be a simple Field Level Security change on the Sales Invoice Setup screen.  Specifically, I am trying to prevent certain users from being able to mark the "Delete Documents" check box.  I am unable to determine which field(control) to modify.  Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Addition to the above Shan valuable  suggestion, better you can user after/before password in field level security instead of using disable field. Because, disable field will disable the whole column and you can not do anything on the other options like "Edit Printed Document", "Void Invoice Documents".,etc.,

    Hope this helps!!!

    Many thanks Shan!

The users need access to the screen for other reasons.  We manipulate the Commend ID field on this screen as part of our normal process which involves recurring contract billing from Encore.

Your suggestion will work out fine.  I really appreciate your help!

In order to do it using field level security fetch the SOP_Invoice_Setup and scroll window name Invoice_Scroll  in the security mode set it as disable field.

Note: Since, it is a scrolling window, it disables the whole field. In order to do it for a specific line in the scrolling window it requires custom code to be written in dexterity or VBA.

    Hi Jeff,

Why would you provide user access to the Setup screen ? Instead of using field level security to restrict the users you can restrict the user access to the setup forms using the user security settings by not providing him access to the setup forms.

    Tools>>Setup>>System>>User Security
