Email track based on custom field in Dynamics

Hi Everyone!

I have been looking into every article related to matching incoming emails and have not managed to figure out a solution to my issue without either heavy coding, or reference to smartmatch which does not do what i need it to.

I am trying to create a flow/automation through which : When an email comes in to a mailbox it is matched to the contact record based on a particular part of the subject line, and a custom field created in the contact record (already existing).

To explain : when someone submits a request to us through a separate portal - they get allocated a number which is stored in a custom field in the contact record in dynamics. We want to be able to monitor emails related to that particular number stored into the custom field, and not necessarily the contact email address .

Does anyone know how this would be possible through a workflow?

Cheers
Raluca

    Hi Raluca,

I didn't want your question to get lost. But your got posted (here) in the D365 Mixed Reality forum for the "D365 Guides" product. It sounds like your question is more related to Flow interaction from a Portal to Contact Record for whatever module your referring to (Sales, Customer Service). My hope is that the Microsoft administrator can for this forum can get it moved to the correct forum. But just in case, I wanted you to know in case you want to repost in another forum.
