Hello everyone,

The data in the audit history is looking very strange lately. Most of it has changed to some icons. Has anyone experienced the same?

Thank you

    Try following solutions

1- Change the browser and check

2- Restart IIS if you are using on-premise version and then check

3- Restart SQL Server if you are using on-premise version and then check

    Hi Muhammad,

Thank you for your suggestions. Went through all of them but unfortunately there's no change.

This usually means that Auditing was turned off and back on for those fields, or the entity, or the system as a whole

That is starting to make sense Ryan. It was off for about a very short period of time. But is it ok to have all previous audit history erased? Also some of the fields are showing and some not. Is like a random thing.

    Can this be recovered?

    Thank you

Is there any way to fix this?

When you enable auditing, Microsoft Dynamics CRM stores the change history for transactions in the form of audit logs in the database. You can delete the old or unwanted logs to clean up the database space.

When you delete an audit log, you can no longer view the audit history for the period covered by that audit log.

--Make sure that you have the System Administrator or System Customizer security role or equivalent permissions.

    --Check your security role

    --Go to Settings > Auditing.

    --Choose Audit Log Management

--Select the oldest audit log. Then, on the command bar, choose Delete Logs.

--In the confirmation message, choose OK.

    Note:

-You can only delete the oldest audit log in the system. To delete more than one audit log, continue to delete the oldest audit log until you have deleted enough logs.

Thank you so much for that Brinda, unfortunately I'm trying to achieve the opposite: to make the data visible again.

    Hi BobbyC,

It will not be possible to see the data again in audit history. But if you want to check changes in specific field of an entity and if you are using on-premises version then you could sql-query on audit table in database.

I still don't understand if this is lost data why is this still showing in there? And also, it is hidden randomly(please see below). if the previous data is gone why is not all gone?
