Older version of PR workflow is getting triggerred

I am facing the following problem:

  • The user has submitted a PR and the latest version of the workflow has been triggered.
  • The user has then recalled the PR.
  • The very next minute, the user has re-submitted the same PR and the previous version of the PR has got triggered.
  • No one has activated the previous version, and the latest version itself is active.
  • I when i check the workflow history for the one where the earlier version has been triggered, these are submitting comments that i get.
  • I also checked whether the user has delegated his workflows, but that's not the case

Has any one faced such a problem? Please can you help me out.

    Hi Nirvan,

What you do mean with the latest version of the workflow? What is the previous? Can you check if there were two or more WF instances of the same document active? There is a way to submit a single document twice. Can you view the workflow history for this PR?

    Hello,

    • By version of the workflow i mean the latest one which has been configured and is currently active

    • There are no two instances. The user has recalled the first and then submitted the PR again, which has created a new instance

Yes the resubmit is picking the old version.

And another things, if we re-call and resubmit once again, it is picking the right (latest) version

To answer your question the latest version was active

    Few points regarding that:

The PR was created and submitted once the latest version of the workflow was activated.

If you see the screen shot i posted, the firs time the workflow instance was created it was for the version 5.0.1.0. Hence if the PR was recalled and resubmitted it should take the same workflow version, which it did not and took the previous one.

Secondly, I guess if you recall a PR, and in the meanwhile a new workflow version is created and activated, the resubmision of the PR will take the latest workflow version.

    Hi Nirvan,

When I look at the screenshot I notice that the first line with an older version of the workflow is completed. The second instance has the newer version. The second has been recalled.

The first row has the lowest instance number. So this was created before the second one. How did you get a workflow completed and another newer instance in your environment?

The first instance is the cancelled one. The completed in the second instance which the user has recalled and resubmitted and which has taken the previous version.
