Invalid Argument error when opening processes in Dynamics CRM 2015 Update 1

Posted on by 450

Hi,

Recently, I've created a trial instance of CRM 2015 Online to try some new features in Update 1. After importing my solution from CRM 2015 Online (version 7.0) as an unmanaged solution, I tried to open some processes, then the Invalid Argument appeared. I can't edit, update, activate/deactivate them. However, some processes are opened normally. Please see the screenshot of the error below:

I'm pretty sure this error happens after I imported my solution. My solution works properly in CRM 2015 Online (ver 7.0). Is there something wrong with my solution? I'm afraid I'm not ready to upgrade to version 7.1 with this error.

Please help!

Thank you very much

I just had the same issue. I followed the advice and changed my formats to English (United States) through personal options and this fixed it. Thanks for the help.

This creates another problem: it seems that the process is bound to the format of the creator. That means if I'm a developer, with 'United States' format, create processes, and when I deploy the solution to UAT environment where users using different format, even System Admin, then the Sys Admin can't work on the processes that I developed.

    How can we resolve this?

    Thanks ElisabethD,

I tried to change the format back and it works!!

This confusing error should be fixed soon.

Hope this helps others as well.

I seem to have solved the issue!

When I tried to interpret the error message that I received with the "Invalid Argument" it said something about language code not found.

I changed my format in personal options to the original format and suddenly everything seems to work again! :-)

You can re-import the solution on old solution.

    Thanks guys for replying.

I decided to try on a new environment and it works. Everything works fine on the new environment. I have no idea why. Maybe there's a bug when importing the solution.

    Cheers,

    Khoa Nguyen

    Hi Khoa Nguyen,

For this type or error message it's necessary to create an Support Case to verify the traces thwt we can get when you reproduce  the error and identify if exists a wrong type of attribute in your solution fields.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Khoa,

I am getting this exact same issue when attempting to edit a business process flow or create a new process flow.

I'd guess something has broken since the update. Can anyone from Microsoft support follow up on this or shed light on the issue?

    Regards,

    Tim
