Does anyone know of a way to utilize a Power Automate flow to create a PDF of a sales return order? Basically, I'm trying to create a workflow where someone without a D365 license can approve a sales return order. I've seen all the ways to use a PA workflow to create approvals for those without licenses. However, if the user doesn't have a license, they can't click on a link to see details on a sales return order. So, I would love to just create a PDF of it and link it in the adaptive card I'm posting to Teams..unless someone can think of a better way to do this.
Thanks Yun,
I tried to generate the URL for the sales order return, but it failed each time. I thought I had the page correct, but I guess I didn't? Still working through it.
Igne,
Although I hear you on this (having worked for a software company, I adhere to licensing terms as you can imagine), I have to say I don't see this as any different from a scenario where:
- sales manager has BC license
- sales manager has weekly meeting where he reviews items that are listed for approval, asking his staff regarding each one
- sales manager takes that feedback and updates the approval request in BC
Under that scenario, each staff member would need a BC license. As we know, that is not necessarily practical in that situation.
Thoughts?
Hi, Generating the URL is fine with me, but clicking on the URL may open the default browser instead of Teams.
More details:
Use Power Automate to post adaptive card or link to Business Central record (Get url & Get adaptive card action)

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

I just want to inform you that if you go ahead and implement a work around for approval of BC documents for users who does not have a license than you are in breach with the license terms for the product so that is not a solution I would recommend.
Internal users that indirectly modifies data in Business Central is also required to have a Business Central user.
That may be the solution! Quick question - can I get a link to the sales return order into the adaptive card for approval and when they click on the link it opens in Teams with their license? I'm guessing they can't approve it without a license, which is why I would use the flow to approve on their behalf when they click the button.
Hi, sorry this may not be the answer to your question, if your user has permission to open teams, you can access Business Central with your Microsoft 365 license. More details: https://yzhums.com/31710/
And for your question, I hope the following information can give you some hints.
