Enable Server-Based SharePoint Integration causes Unexpected Error

(1) ShareShare

Hi,

I am trying to set-up an environment for testing and development within the local intranet, using SharePoint 2016 (on-premise) and CRM 2016 (on-premise).

Both machines are in the same domain.

I was following this article https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn949332.aspx and I checked it serveral times, so I think I did not miss something.

Of course I completed the powershell commands without errors.

I am wondering if someone here was able to set-up a configuration like me before, with both systems on-premise?

Any ideas or comments highly appreciated - Thank you!

Thomas

I have exactly the same issue.  Was there any solution to this?

    Steps to reproduce:

    - Settings> Document Management

    - Click > Enable Server-Based SharePoint Integration

    - Select the "Online" option

    - When prompted enter the URL of the Sharepoint Online site

Receive an error with the following message:

    Unexpected Error

    An error has occurred.

Try this action again. If the problem continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Community for solutions or contact your organization's Microsoft Dynamics CRM Administrator. Finally, you can contact Microsoft Support.

I am using CRM Dynamics Online 2016 and Sharepoint Online 2016.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Hi Entho,

The issue mentioned by you is quite strange. As we tried to replicate the issue with our trial environment and we didn’t face such issue.

Also you may refer this blog http://www.inogic.com/blog/2014/07/server-based-sharepoint-integration-for-microsoft-dynamics-crm/  to check if you have missed anything.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!

    Hi Bertus,

finally, I could solve the issue for my environment.

This behavior was really strange, but the solution was quite easy then.

The user in CRM, who is executing this configuration task needs to have the field

“SharePoint Work Email Address” filled in with the email address (same as Primary Email).

By default, as far I can remember, this field was not visible on the users summery page.

I hope this will solve your issue too.

    Regards, Thomas

This solved my problem in my environment:

I found the field (colum), but i do not see it back in the view ?!

So i could not put the sharepoint email address that belongs to the user.

    Bertus,

as far I remember I modified the user page and just added this field to show up in the user information.

I tried to all the field as you mentioned above even then its not working? Can you let me know if there is anything else to be done to integrate sharepoint in Dynamics CRM.

    Hi,

did you follow entirely the article  technet.microsoft.com/.../dn949332.aspx mentioned in my original post?

For me the only thing left was the missing email address then to get it work.
