Credit note (security access)

I am creating a custom role for users to be able to do a credit note in AX 2012.  However when I try to test it out, the credit note is missing the Invoice and Project invoice tabs where the user can see the items and mark them. What permission gives access to these items?

Thanks,

ChristinaH

    Hi Christina,

Please provide some more details. What form did you grant access to? What menu item do you have in your privilege what what access level?

I created a custom role/privilege/duty. They have full control to SalesCreditNoteHeader_Action. I've tried access to invoice related items but it has no effect on the form.

You can add this duty to your role "maintain sales order  "

    Hi Christina,

The tab pages do have a property NeededPermission set to be Manual on form design. In that case, you need to add the form controls in your new privilege or role. Have a look at a similar thread how to add the controls in the permissions. The thread is about financial dimensions, but the procedure is the same: community.dynamics.com/.../296742

Mahmoud Hakim, thank you but that is too broad for what I need to do. Do you know which privilege allows this? I also saw that this was a post a couple of months ago and no one has found (or at least posted) the solution.

Andre, I have not been working in the AOT. I have been doing everything through the security privileges and Rich client. Is there an alternative way to get the tabfinancialdimensions object. I am looking into the post that you sent but want to know my options especially because I'm not familiar with that route.

    Hi,

Please perform the following steps to gain access to the required tabs
    (i) Navigate to your user role(Path: \Security\Roles\RoleName)
(ii) Under the forms node, add the form SalesCopying.
(iii) Add the controls TabPageInvoice & TabPageProjInvoice to the form and set Effective access property to Delete for each.
    Path: \Security\Role\<RoleName>\Permissions\Forms\SalesCopying\TabPageInvoice
    \Security\Role<RoleName>\Permissions\Forms\SalesCopying\TabPageProjInvoice

    HI all,

Thank you for the multiple replies. I do not have full access to the AOT which makes what I was asking more difficult and what I was able to try with the SalesCopying did not work  (the TabInvoice name was red in the field, don't know why, and changes did not apply). It took a while but the way I was able to solve it was by going to Security Privileges under System Administration > Revenue cycles > Inquire into customer invoice status > View customer inquiry > adding all permissions from this privilege to my custom role. Then Revenue cycles > Maintain collections transactions > Maintain customer advance invoice credit notes > add the permission to my custom role. This along with the permissions I had already added to my custom role gave the Invoice tab and the area to mark the item. Hopefully this will help someone that does not have access to the AOT,
