Hello,

I would like to import the Fixed asset Transaction (Details) report into D365. (Path: Fixed Assets > Inquiries and reports > Fixed Asset Transactions > Details) When I try to import the excel file in the data management workspace, we need to select the data entity and complete the mapping. I tried selecting different data entities related to Fixed asset and General Ledger. However, there is error in mapping.

Please suggest me the appropriate data entity to be used for importing this file.

Regards.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Vishwanath,

You can't just import the details from a report. You would need to provide information as the data entities expect the columns. To learn what information is required, you can first export data from the application using data entities. Then you can provide all information in the tables.

What type of transactions do you need to import? Opening balances or just a series of acquisitions or depreciations? You would need to load the transactions in journal header and lines; then post them after verification.

    Hello Andre,

    Thanks for your quick response.

I would like to import a series of acquisitions and depreciations.

I have loaded the transactions of acquisition in journal header and lines; then posted them and taken the excel report from it.

Now, I am trying to import new set of data in the same format, however, the mapping is error because do not know the appropriate data entity to be selected while importing.

Hence, requesting to know the correct data entity to be used for importing transactions (details) data.

For asset transaction to upload as a journal, you need to use fixed asset journal v2 entity.

Please note the report that I need to import as shown below.

There are no relevant fields available in the data entities that I have selected earlier for import and hence the mapping error is shown.

You can not directly import to transaction table.

    You need to use journals.

You upload transactions to journals and then post.

    Hi Vishwanath,

In my first reply, I already mentioned that you can't import the transactions details directly. You can create some journal lines in a test environment and export them using a data management export project and the data entity you want to use. Then you have a template with example data to know how to fill the template. When you use that file as source file it will map the fields automatically.

    Hello,

    Thank you for the reply.

I will create a template with the required fields selecting from different data entities and then export the report.

We can use the same report to import the data later on.

    Regards.
