Hello,
Not sure if I'm asking this in the correct place or if the U of M can even do this but.....
Wondering if you can create a Base Unit of Measure that when you select Qty 1 in a purchase order, it would be received in at a different quantity such as 6.
Example:
I create a PO for qty 1 of item X but when received, it goes into inventory as 6 of item X.
Currently we purchase certain items that are 6 packs but the PO is cut for qty 1. While we ordered 10 of these items we actually have 60 physically on hand which makes things a bit off in inventory. Unfortunately, the easy solution of cutting a po for qty 6 and only get 1 pack of 6 doesn't work for us.

Again thanks Sanjay, gave it a whirl just a bit ago on our test DB and it worked as intended.
Thanks Sanjay. I'll give this a shot on our test DB to make sure it works today but i believe this is what we are looking to do
In fact, this is the main purpose of having a "unit of measurement schedule" in Dynamics GP. You may have several unit of measurement levels along with conversion rates. This is visible to all supply chain module; Sales, Inventory and Purchasing.
Let us know if you have any further inquiries or concerns,
Hi Longlive,
You would want to create a UOM Schedule as Sanjay shows above.

Create UOM Schedule as follows:
Setup Purchasing Unit of Measure at item vendor maintenance as follows:
When purchase order is created, the default UOM would be PCK. (1 PCK)
The receiving will also be done in default purchasing UOM PCK. (1 PCK)
Inventory will be maintained at Base UOM which would be PCS ( 6 PCS)
Is this what you are looking for ?
Cheers!
