Microsoft Dynamics GP (Archived)

Error: Journal Entry has been used, please enter another.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We have GP 2013 integrated with TMW for our driver, the system is integrated. So, the system created a batch for last payroll cycle, but when I try to posted the Batch I get the following issue "Journal Entry has been used,  please enter another."

I looked for the JE # in the Journal entry inquiry and the JE# has already been posted, so I understand that its not letting this batch post due to the JE# being duplicate. But how do I change the JE# without having to delete the batch and post it manually, and even then would that be recomended?

Any help would be appreciate it, I'm fairly new to GP.

Thanks, Patricia

Patricia, you would need to get into the SQL tables.  If you aren't sure how to get there you might want to get with an IT person to help you out.  You can reassign the journal entry number there.

    Hi Patricia,

You need to check GL10000 table Or export it in Excel use Copy Paste functionality in Finance-->Transaction-->General Journal.

Please keep good backup before doing any table insert/update or Delete.

    Tks
