Publish catalog to online store

Posted on by 350

Hi,

I`m trying to publish a catalog to my online store. After I click on publish on my catalog (my online store is successfully publishied!) the status is changed to Published, but I cannot find my products in SharePoint. When I enter my catalog in AX, I notice that the status NeXT to where it says Retail Channels is "In progress" and NeXT to Contoso online store the listing status is In Progress.

Anyone know what might be wrong?

Even I am facing same issue when I try to delete the term in the navigation hierarchy from DAX, I get this error:

"Category cannot be deleted while dependent Channel category attribute exist. Delete dependent Channel category attribute and try again."

I was not able to find how to delete the channel category attribute...

    I didn't find any Map attributes under Retail->Common->Retail channels->online stores->double click your channel->click Edit->select tab Setup->Map attributes to check

any suggestion would be really helpful.

    many thanks in advance!

Go to Product information management/Setup/Categories and then click Category hierarchy types. Remove all the assignments for your hierarchy, once that is done you will be able to remove the hierarchy.

Thanks Sergey. I'll try this and let you know.

RE: Publish catalog to online store

Categories in Navigational Hierarchy can be assigned Category Attribute Groups, each of those groups could have attributes and finally each attribute can be included into the channel. If you are trying to delete a category whose groups' attributes are included into the channel you will get the error you reported (the one about Delete dependent Channel category attribute). To proceed with the category deletion you need to exclude (from the channel) all attributes for all groups for your category, that UI can be accessed something like this: Retail->Common->Retail channels->online stores->double click your channel->click Edit->select tab Setup->Map attributes

on this screen you should see your hierarchy, select the category you need and look into the right pane - the section "Category attributes" will display the attributes of your category, select each of them (one by one) and unselect the checkbox "Include attribute". Once this is done you should be able to delete the category.

Please note that there is a way to kind of "temporary delete" a category and then "resurrect" it in future if needed - that can be done by Deactivating a category.

Also, when I try to delete the term in the navigation hierarchy from DAX, I get this error:

"Category cannot be deleted while dependent Channel category attribute exist. Delete dependent Channel category attribute and try again."

I was not able to find how to delete the channel category attribute...

    Hi,

This does not help me. Your blog does not talk about publishing the online store.

No, this term belongs to another navigation hierarchy which is not used anymore. I tried to remove the hierarchy from "Retail Navigation Hierarchy" screen and I get this error:

"Category hierarchies cannot be deleted while dependent Category hierarchy roles exist. Delete dependent Category hierarchy roles and try again.".

How can I remove those hierarchy roles ?

In addition, can you see the category, which corresponds to that ID, in SharePoint (in publishing portal)?

RE: Publish catalog to online store

The view contains a column CHANNELID - can you see in the row returned your ChannelID (compare it with ID of the channel you published in AX) ?

RE: Publish catalog to online store

    a) No products are coming in the product catalog site collection. Nevertheless, terms hierarchy is properly created/

    b) Online store publishing status is "Published"

I'm also able to set the catalog publishing to "published" after completing the catalog publishing workflow.

After running "create actions" + A_1075-OC and A_1040-OC, no products are coming to the catalog on SharePoint side. The retailpublishing job result is:

Error encountered accessing category space: 5637146083 is not known.

When I run this request on the SQL machine, I get one record.

    SELECT *

    FROM CHANNELCATEGORYHIERARCHYVIEW

    WHERE RECID = 5637146083

I hope this is more clear now.
