Portal Remember Me on Sign In not working

Hi,

The Remember Me option on the Portal sign-n page does not appear to be working. When the option is ticked and a user logs in, on the subsequent visit, the username and password are not populated. I'm assuming this is how it should work.

The Authentication/Registration/RememberMeEnabled Site Setting is set to true.

Any suggestions as to why this is not working much appreciated.

Hi Steve,

If you signed in to the Portal and then close the tab without signing out, next time when you will open the Portal it will try to authenticate you automatically without asking for username or password. If you signed out of the portal you need to sign in again manually.

What you need is to get your browser to save your password in the cache so that you don't need to enter it again the next time you log in.

You cannot control it in the Portal, It is a browser specific behavior.

For example, you need go settings > Autofill > Password to enable the “Offer to Save Passwords” option in the google browser.

From now on, when you log in to a site in Chrome, the browser will ask you to save your password for that site.

Thanks for your reply.

I am now prompted with the password when logging into the Portal, after following your instructions.

I have also set the Authentication/Registration/RememberMeEnabled to false. Is there any point to it?

If you log in to the portal and then close the tab without signing out, the next time you open the portal the user will be automatically logged in without going to the sign-in page.
