Product Data Safety Sheets printout on packing slips

We have created a product data safety sheet and applied it to an item.  We have set up so the safety sheets should print with the packing slip.    We did not assign a specific BOM because it is included in many BOMS.  Based on the description of BOM field, we are assuming that this product data safety sheet will print whenever a finished assembly that has this item included.   Please confirm, or does this product data safety sheet need to be added to every finished assembly it is part of.

I'm not clear on what you're asking, I see two things potentially:

1.) Do you want to get the product safety data sheet to print at packing slip updated against a Sales Order?  If so, your finished good needs to have a product safety data sheet assigned to it AND it must be a regulated product AND there is logic around the last time it was sent / how the parms are set for notification and printing.

2.) If you just want to see the product safety data sheet against productions that use that component / ingredient in their BOM or Formula what you have done sounds correct but these don't automatically print.  You just get the option to see the product safety data sheet from the production BOM by going to a production / Batch Order -> Production tab in Ribbon -> Bom / Formula -> select your component / ingredient -> Inquiries -> Product Safety Data sheet.

Thank you.  We want to do option #1.  It sounds like we will need to assign the product data safety sheet to both the individual item itself and all of the finished goods that include the item.    Thanks also for the clarification regarding what the BOM field functions.  I thought it had to do with Sales Orders, but it has to do with production orders.  Thanks again.
