I have created a user field and placed it on the vendor maintenance screen. Now I would like to add that field to a report.

If the Vendor table is not part of the report, you will need to add the table under Database>Database Expert.
If the Vendor table is already part of the report, then if you set datasource location, that should make this field visible as an available field from the Vendor table which you then insert into the report.
