"E-Mail Might Contain Script..." on email history

Occassionally when viewing email from the history, a small notification bar will appear stating the following:

"The e-mail below might contain script or content that is potentially harmful and has been blocked."

 I'm not sure what it could be referring to.  None of the messages seem to have anything more malicious than some text formatting.

 Anyone know how to supress the message?

    I too am experiencing this as well, but only with some users. I am unable via research online to find an explanation for this alert or receive confirmation that the email, it's images and any dynamic links are in fact intact and working for the receipient of the email. Have you received a response/resolution? Please share if you have. Thank you.

    Hi,

    This warning message comes up when the email content has scripting tags in them. When you receive formatted mails, there are chances that some of the styling was done through style and/or script tags. When it finds one of these in the email message, it tends to display the warning message.

    If you track a plain text email in CRM and open it in CRM, you would not find this message.

    This is just for information message and i guess can be ignored with any impact on the functionality.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi,

    I was glad to find this info today - as I have been battling this problem for a couple of days now!

    However, it seems to have one impact on the Preview Form Functionality. I don't seem to be able toview the content of these blocked emails through the Preview, like I can for the other emails.

    Have you ever come across this problem? Any suggestions as to how I can avoid this?

     Thanks

    E

    Hi,

    Even if you track a plain text email in CRM, this warning will appear. If you send a plain text email to yourself with no body (content) at all, once the email is tracked in CRM, CRM converts it to HTML, and this HTML that the product generates, causes the problem.

    My guess is that MS CRM 4.0 with rollups is still not fully compatible with IE 8. Maybe it will be addressed in CRM 5.0?

    Regards,

    Alex

    I have this same issue - and it's not really an issue because CRM provides you with a button to see the full email- BUT I have a problem when I try to report on it.

    In an SSRS report I'm pulling the description field from email - Only thing that will display is the HTML tags on emails with this 'warning'.  And not the full set of tags.  They start with <!DOCTPYE,  Other emails that don't have that warning in CRM display everything.

    Anyone know a solution to this?  I know that CRM is storing the full email somewhere because I can view it in CRM.

    Hi All,

    I have written a simple JavaScript method to hide the script warning message. This function needs to be called onload of the email form. This is quite unsupported as Microsoft does not recommend using the document object methods like getElementById etc. Use it at your own risk.

    //This method hides the script error message on email form

    //call this method onload of the email form

    function hideScriptErrorMsgBlock() {

       var _errorMsgBlock = document.getElementById("trBlockMsg");

       if (_errorMsgBlock != null && _errorMsgBlock != undefined) {

           document.getElementById("trBlockMsg").style.display = 'none';

       }

    }

    Cheers,

    Palani

    I have the same issue but my problem is with crm 2013 and it blocked the attachment and they are simple word files. I can send this documents by email and recieve it on crm without problems but if I set up a sign and the body contains any script then this breaks attachments!!

    Any idea with this?
