CRM 2016 Online + BIDS + connection to CRM Fetch is not working

Posted on by 70

Hello

CRM version: CRM 2016 online

I am facing issue where I am not able to connect to CRM 2016 online while creating a new dataset in BIDS

The following error is returned

Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'site.api.crm.dynamics.com/.../errorhandler.aspx;ErrorCode=&Parm0=%0d%0a%0d%0a?????? ?????: The service '%2fXRMServices%2f2011%2fDiscovery.svc' cannot be activated due to an exception during compilation. The exception message is: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Crm.Site.Services%2c Version%3d8.0.0.0%2c Culture%3dneutral%2c PublicKeyToken%3d31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified..&RequestUri=%2fXRMServices%2f2011%2fDiscovery.svc%3fwsdl&user_lcid=1025'.
----------------------------
The connection to server "site.api.crm.dynamics.com/.../Discovery.svc" could not be established. Make sure that the connection string and credentials are correct, and try again.

Then I tried to setup a connection as follows:

https://disco.crm.dynamics.com;<name>;

This returned following error

GetAuthStateEx() - Request Status:
----------------------------
An authentication error occurred while connecting to server "disco.crm.dynamics.com/.../Discovery.svc". Make sure that the connection string and credentials are correct, and try again.

Username/password are correct.

I installed a BIDS on another machine and then CRM 2015 CRM Reporting service extension and there also I am getting the same issue.

It was working perfect till yesterday, and suddenly stopped working today.

Does anyone know if there is any change in authentication mechanism or if there is any known issue that got introduced?

Thanks

Kris

    Never mind...It got resolved automatically :)

    May be there was some issue from MS end  (I think so because earlier I tried it on multiple online sites and it failed for all)

    Thanks
