Recent price increase for Common Data Service Additional data storage

Hi all,

I was very surprised to see how the pricing for old Dynamics 365 Additional Database Storage, increased when redefined as Common Data Service additionnal database storage : the list price increased from 4,20 € for 1GB, to 33,70 € for the same 1 GB !!!

Do you know why such a price increase ?

Is there a technical reason for that ?

Because our customer need valuable information to accept such an increase...

The pricing is available with our LSP list prices, but i did not find any link about the pricing changes..

Hi Laurent,

As quoted by Lu Hao, the best approach here is reach a Microsoft Sales Expert, however I can provide a quick technical overview from my standpoint.

Dynamics 365 Additional Database Storage add-on is the old subscription model and exclusive for Dynamics 365. Keep in mind that 1GB in this model could be consumed very quickly by your Email attachments associated with Email messages into Dynamics 365.

In the new model, the same attachments will consume your File storage instead your database storage and additional File storage is cheaper. Basically, now you have your storage divided into 3 different verticals that have different prices. You can find more details here: docs.microsoft.com/.../capacity-storage

Other important think is about the other services that can use the CDS database storage like applications created in Power Apps or information generated by Power Automate.

Also, remember that by default, a Dynamics 365 subscription provide 10GB and full licenses also could provide additional amount of database/file storage.
