Master planning - Problem with Order Date and Delivery Date in planned PO

Hi,

I have a vendor who delivers only on Fridays (Delivery date) but can accept orders on any day (Order date). There is a purchase lead time of 2 days. If I keep only Fridays OPEN in the vendor calendar, then Order Date and Delivery Date will be on Fridays but one week apart (e.g. Order Date = 20Dec, Delivery Date = 27Dec) which is not acceptable. The expectation is to have Delivery Date on a Friday (e.g. 27Dec) and Order Date on 25Dec (Delivery date minus Lead time). Is there a way I can achieve this by manipulating calendars or any other master planning setups?

I would ideally hope to create a vendor calendar with all days OPEN and 'Closed for pick up'. Only Fridays will have 'Closed for pick up' cleared. But unfortunately system does not look at 'Closed for pickup' for assigning Delivery Date. It just checks if a day is OPEN or CLOSED.

Regards,

Sreehari.

closed for pickup is from D365FO legal entity perspective, should consider using closed

    Hi Sreehari,

The delivery date is calculated based on the order date and lead time (maybe also safety margin, etc.), so it is unlikely that you want the order date to be 25Dec, and the order date must be an opening day.

Can you simplify your needs? For example, control the receipt date only on Friday? This way you can set the receipt only on Friday (note the priority of coverage group and warehouse), and the supplier calendar is open normally.

    Hi Rahul,

"closed for pickup is from D365FO legal entity perspective" - Do you mean, this will not work for external parties like vendors?

    Regards,

    Sreehari.

"Can you simplify your needs? For example, control the receipt date only on Friday?" - No, this is not the requirement. I am ready to receive on any day. But my vendor will dispatch goods only on Fridays.

How can I achieve this? Please note that I don't want the Order date and Delivery date on planned orders to be one week apart.
