Time Entry Import Excel Online error

Hello Team!

I'm looking to import time entry records for users but because I have project tasks that are duplicates, the import fails.

For example, there are multiple project tasks of "Bench Time" and when I import my time entry with the Project Task "Bench Time", it fails because there are a few more lines of "Bench Time" in the Project Tasks. This is counter intuitive if users are trying to import a bunch of time entries for various projects.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi CraveCRM. Can you replace the name of the task with its GUID? That way the import will go through. You could also try the workaround in this article:

    Hi Antti,

I'd try that but how am I supposed to add the GUID in this process?

Here's the file (Project Task is the problematic field):

So how can I add the GUID to this file so the users can do their Time Entry import? To your point, once I'm able to add the GUID, i think that should work.

    Thanks!

You need to extract the GUIDs of projects tasks with, for example, an export from the project task table. Then paste the GUIDs to the time entry Excel matching the correct GUID with the correct task name and project. The 3 initial hidden columns contain the GUIDs of records.

Right now I can't think of a simpler way to get this done. Could be there's an easier approach that I'm not seeing right now.

Should a new column be created for the GUID or should it be pasted to the Task Name Column ?

It can be pasted to the Task Name column.
