Use a Country lookup on a Marketing Form

Hi,

I am trying to add a Country lookup field to my Marketing form but for some reasons it is not working and keeps showing up as a text field.

Here's what I did so far:

I created a Country table and two lookup fields on Lead and Contact entity.

On my Lead Capture Marketing form I created a new Marketing form field called Country and set the type to Lookup (see below)

This marketing form field is linked to my Contact and Lead lookup field (Contact and Lead mapping)

Also the lookup Entity and field are correctly set.

When publishing the marketing form and page, the new Country lookup field keeps showing up as a text field.

Does anyone know how this works or what I am doing wrong?

Thanks, Geron

RE: Use a Country lookup on a Marketing Form

    Hi Geron,

I also encountered your issue in my environment.(both native marketing page and external web page)

2020 wave 1 early access enabled.

    Server version: 9.1.0000.13834

    Client version: 1.4.144-2002.1

    Region: crm5

From my test, i found that if I gave the lookup field a default value, then a caret will appear at right of input box and only the default value is available.

Could you share your environment version?

I'll help you to open a support ticket if your version is different compared with mine.

    Regards,

    Clofly

    Hi Clofly,

I have exact same thing as you. When adding a default value to the lookup on the form in designer mode, only that one value appears when publishing.

    Here are my details:

    2020 release wave 1 enabled

    Server version: 9.1.0000.13533

    Client version: 1.3.423-2001.4

    Region: crm4

    Dynamics 365 Marketing solution:   1.35.10058.2083

According to the MSFT portal my Marketing application is up to date:

Did you manage to fix the issue on your environment? And can you help me open a support ticket because it seems there is a slight difference in version.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards, Geron

    Hi Geron,

For the new Entity Country, you might try to set a Security Role permission for your org. This needs to be done manually sometimes for new Custom Entities.

You can go there from Settings > Security > Security Roles > Marketing Service User > Custom Entities tab

Under Custom Entities, find Country and mark the box under Read column(the 2nd column) as green for this org.

    Does this solve the issue?

    Thanks,

    This is spot on!

Setting the permission in the Marketing Service User role solved the issue

    Thanks a lot, Defne

The country lookup is still not working for me. I have followed all of the documentation regarding enabling relevance search and everything in this thread. When the form loads, the field is populated with [object Object] as shown below. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks

This issue has again reappeared for me.

I am again seeing  [object Object] same as Theodore.

Can anyone from the Dynamics Marketing product team reply to this. It is fixed and randomly seems to reappear. Please advise.

RE: Use a Country lookup on a Marketing Form

    Hi Geron,

You might be using old form script, as we have switched to new scripts in April and newest features are only available with the new script.

Are you experiencing this in certain type of forms? Can you provide more details? If you would like to share the URL of your page with me, I can take a look.

Make sure that your references to form-loader.js or loader.js script look like

    mktdplp102cdn.azureedge.net/.../form-loader.js

    or

    mktdplp102cdn.azureedge.net/.../loader.js respectively.

    Hi Defne,

    Here is the URL ttz-demo.microsoftcrmportals.com/.../

It is a demo environment using a MSFT portal.

Would be great if you can help troubleshoot

    Rgrds, Geron
