Requested Ship Date

I need to create invoices shipped on June 29 but posted ibn July 1st.   They will be dated July.  I" would like to have the Requested Ship Date reflect the actual invoice date.

Is there a way to set up the batch to reflect this so I do not have to go into the date sub=screen and change every single invoice one at a time?

    Re: Requested Ship Date

There is actually a canned smartlist under Sales Line Items called Shipping Performance* which will show the Actual Ship Date with the Requested Ship date.   Of course, you will want the actual to be on or before the requested date.  Being a Smartlist, you can export to excel and do some 'fun stuff' in there.  To make this report relevant means using correct dates in those fields.   The actual ship date is populated by when it is fulfilled.   Hope this helps!

    Re: Requested Ship Date

Dan, what reports would I be able to run to generate the Requeted vs actual ship date? i have been looking around for something along those lines. I am also looking for a report that i can run to tell me what shipped out in a given week. Most of my orders ship on Thurs/Friday for the next week delivery, so it would be nice to see what shipped by week, not what delivered(ie. Document Date) each week, as that report is readily available. i appreciate your help on this.

    thanks,

    jeff

    Re: Requested Ship Date

Under Setup/Sales order processing / Options there is a place under Requested Ship date to change it.

I found this when looking for something else.

    Re: Requested Ship Date

The Req Ship Date defaults to the invoice date.  Some times we bill an invoice ahead and change the Req Ship Date to the future date and some times as stated b4 we bill a date later and like to note the actual date.

    TY for your prompt reply.

    Re: Requested Ship Date

My first question would be why you need the Requested Ship Date to match the document date?   The Requested ship date is used as the target date to ship out the product.   You can then run reports to compare the actual ship date to the requested to see how the company performs in meeting customer requests.

To answer your question, you would need to do a custom although it is possible a macro could do this as well as you could sort by batch and then run the macro against the batch.   If unfamiliar with macros, you record a macro (tools>macro) and then you can create a list in excel (using smartlist) and use the Word functionality to do a mail merge to update multiple records.
