Hi all,

I want to add a description of vendor ledger entries to the standard Aged accounts payable report by using report extension.

Here is my code, but it fails to show, may you help with it thx ><

reportextension 50000 "AP report" extends "Aged Accounts Payable"
{
    dataset
    {
        add(TempVendortLedgEntryLoop)
        {

            column(Description; "Vendor Ledger Entry".Description) { }
        }

In your extension, you’re trying to reference "Vendor Ledger Entry".Description, but TempVendorLedgEntryLoop is a temporary table — not a direct "Vendor Ledger Entry" record.

Hi

Since the standard report assigns values to a temporary table, the data cannot be accessed directly through a report extension. Additionally, The AgedVendorLedgEntry array, which is used to fetch data in the report, cannot be extended or modified.

Therefore, the recommended approach is to create a copy of the standard report, apply the required modifications, and set the new report as the default in the global search.
