Cannot create new company or customer

Just created a new environment with a 'clean' instance of a sandbox and production of Business Central
 
In neither instance can I create anything such as new customer.  The new button is greyed out.
 
If I go to the Allowed Companies in the My Setting area there isn't even an option to create a new company
 
I have SUPER permissions with no company selected and a license.
 
Any thoughts?

    It looks like your license has expired. Is this a trial environment?
